Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Ball Valve Ball Technician to join our specialized workshop team in Kuwait. The successful candidate will be responsible for the inspection, machining, grinding, lapping, polishing, and refurbishment of ball valve balls used in oil & gas, refinery, petrochemical, and other industrial applications. The role requires strong hands-on experience with precision machining and ball valve ball restoration, with particular attention to dimensional accuracy, surface finish, sealing integrity, and quality requirements.
Responsibilities
- • Carry out inspection, assessment, and refurbishment of ball valve balls of various sizes.
- • Perform grinding, lapping, polishing, and precision machining to restore ball surfaces to the required condition.
- • Operate specialized ball valve ball grinding and machining equipment.
- • Inspect balls for wear, corrosion, pitting, scoring, dimensional deviations, and other surface defects.
- • Take and record accurate dimensional measurements before, during, and after machining.
- • Use precision measuring instruments including micrometers, vernier calipers, dial indicators, and other inspection tools.
- • Achieve the required dimensional tolerances and surface finish in accordance with job specifications.
- • Support assessment of repair feasibility and required machining or restoration work.
- • Coordinate with machining, hard chrome, and other workshop teams where additional restoration processes are required.
- • Maintain machines, tooling, fixtures, and work areas in proper operating condition.
- • Complete relevant inspection and job documentation.
- • Follow all UNIGULF HSE, quality, and workshop procedures.
Requirements
- • ITI, Diploma, or equivalent technical qualification in Mechanical, Machining, Fitting, or a related discipline.
- • Minimum 3 years of relevant hands-on experience in ball valve ball refurbishment, valve repair, precision machining, grinding, lapping, or a closely related field.
- • Practical experience working with ball valves and ball valve components is strongly preferred.
- • Experience operating grinding, lapping, polishing, or machining equipment.
- • Good knowledge of dimensional tolerances, surface finish, and precision measurement.
- • Ability to read engineering drawings and understand machining requirements.
- • Familiarity with valve components, sealing surfaces, and common ball surface defects.
- • Experience within the oil & gas, refinery, petrochemical, or industrial valve service sector is preferred.
